Famous view of Japan, pagoda, autumn leaves (or cherry blossoms) and Mt. Fuji behind.
Couldn’t stop looking at it 😍 Really recommend it if you are visiting Japan. In order to get there from Tokyo, Shinjuku station, take a bus to Kawaguchiko. From Kawaguchiko station, a train to Shimoda station from where you have to walk for 20 minutes. Quite far, around 3 hours in total from Tokyo, but it was worth it!
It was my second attempt to see Mt. Fuji this month as at the beginning of the month I was also here but it was cloudy. Actually this time we wanted to see the Momiji Tunnel in Kawaguchiko but as it was quite crowded and hard to get there, we decided to come to this shrine after all. Autumn leaves were also not at their peak anymore so it might not have been that great after all.
Lesson (re-) learned :Things don’t always go as planned and I shouldn’t have been so upset about it... I’m happy and grateful now that I was able to see this 🙏 I have seen Mt. Fuji before from Hakone but Kawaguchiko is the closest I’ve been to it and it looked huge and gorgeous. 美しい富士山！
